NiUG Canada is excited to provide our members with an immerse opportunity to network, share/learn techniques, approaches and methodologies they can use to expand their conceptual and hands-on knowledge of iMIS. The NiUG Canada Conference & Exposition is one of our most successful events of the year.

Presenting is an Amazing Opportunity

  • NiUG is an inclusive environment strengthened by the bonds of our members, we are requesting all presenters find interesting ways to interact with the audience so they can absorb all aspects of the fantastic learning and growing experience you will share.
  • You do not need to be an iMIS master to design an effective business process.
  • As members, we are always interested to learn about new ways iMIS is being leveraged to address business requirements.
  • Our goal this year is for presenters to interact with the audience throughout (if possible) so they can absorb all aspects of this fantastic learning and growing experience.

Interesting in Presenting this year? There are THREE (3) Required Steps to Register

Step 1 - Complete the intent to present. 

Step 2 - Attend the Potential Presenter Information Session May 3rd at Noon EST

Step 3 - Formally register and complete your application to present and provide a draft of your presentation.

  • Go to the NiUG Canada Events page and select formally submit my presentation application.
  • Please note your formal submission will be invalid if the intent to present registration is not completed

June 2, 2017: Call for Presentation Registration Closed at 11:59PM EST

May/June: Presentation Reviews/Accepted/Announced

May/June: Expo Schedule Available

June: Presenter and registrant pre-conference engagement discussions

July: Final Presentations Due

Conference Structure

To best engage our members we are proud to offer many of the sessions in two tracks; technical and system users. 

  1. Technical Users 
    Suggested Topics: SQL, SSRS Report Writing, Integrating third party tools
  2. System Users
    Suggested Topics: Adding a dues product, creating a content record, RiSE 101
  3. Member Case Studies
    Suggested Topics: Member experience with iMIS.

These tracks directly correspond to the predominately two main iMIS user groups. This new format ensures members of all skill levels are able to gain insight based on their learning and interest level. We are seeking highly specialized as well as general knowledge building topics.

Submission Notes

Submissions will be reviewed and accepted by committee with selected presenters contacted by the Board

All submissions must include:

  1. Topic Title
  2. Length of presentation
  3. Target audience: Technical Users, System Users or Case Study
  4. Session Levels
    • Beginner - Material covered is foundational in nature and sessions are designed for attendees who have no prior background or are just starting in the domain of practice presented in the session.
    • Intermediate - Material is designed for participants who have a working knowledge of the topic and a few years of experience in the domain of practice.
    • Advanced - Material is designed for participants who have a detailed knowledge of the topic and specific experience applying or using this knowledge in a professional capacity over a long period of time.
  5. Brief outline and summary of presentation
    • Version of software and specific product your presentation relates E.G. iMIS 100, 200 and/or  300
    • Presentations that can span or talk to the different products would be beneficial
  6. Engagement Level and type

Dates and Details

  • Potential Presenter Information Session hosted May 3rd at noon ET, 2017    
  • Preliminary DRAFT_presentation(s) must be uploaded with applications June 2, 2017 by 11:59PM EST.
  • All selected presentations must be submitted in advance of the conference
  • Final presentation(s) are due Friday, July 14, 2017
  • All selected presenters must agree to have their presentation photographed/videotaped for future distribution
  • Presenters will be given a list of attendees prior to the conference and offered the opportunity have attendee pre-submit questions or to participate in discussions
  • Presenters are considered attendees of conference and are expected to pay their own travel expenses
  • Proposals and presentations must be in English
  • Presentation outline should include time for questions
