John Howarth

John Howarth, the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for ASI, and a long-time friend of NiUG, passed away in 2006.

John was a catalyst for the creation of NiUG, back when it was a regional users group.  His foresight to create a formal group of iMIS users provided the foundation for what NiUG International is today.  Upon his passing the Board of Directors agreed to present an award each year to a person or persons who best exemplified his commitment to the iMIS community.

In remembrance of John’s spirit and acknowledgment of his accomplishments in the iMIS community, the NiUG Board of Directors established this award to recognize those, who through their passion, persistence, optimism and grace under pressure, have distinguished themselves in service to the iMIS community, representing the mission of the organization, and mirroring the quality of character of John Howarth.

Nominations for this award are accepted during the summer months, and the award is presented at the Annual NiUG Discovery Conference in the fall.  During the nomination period, there will be links below where you can submit a recommendation either via email or by filling out the online application form.

If you have questions regarding this award or the nomination process, please contact Michele Morgan.
